During lockdown our family of five were suddenly under one roof for a prolonged period of time, which was a first apart from on family holidays. With our children at school and my husband away with work we seldom spent more than a couple of days all together at one time. I was completely shocked at the sheer amount of single use plastic my family generated on a weekly basis and set out to improve the damage we were doing to our environment. I made changes like buying milk from our local dairy, who deliver in returnable glass bottles. We switched from plastic dish sponges with a scouring surface, to cellulose biodegradable ones and coir scrubbing brushes. We bought local fruit and vegetables which came unpacked. We switched from plastic juices bottles to paper cartons etc. We also switched from liquid hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to solid bar versions, BUT we found that they left a mess on the sink/bath/shower shelf. Our children didn't like touching the bar after it had been used by someone else, and if squeezed it turned into a game of "Guess where it lands". This was causing my husband and I an issue and we almost reverted back to liquids. I really didn't want to do that having researched how most single use plastic ends up in landfill or the ocean, we've all seen the disturbing pictures and I didn't want my family to be contributing to that. So I thought and thought and realised there was a gap in the market and I wanted to fill it. I set out on inventing a solid soap dispenser, which gives all the environmental benefits of solid (reduced carbon footprint, less water usage - up to 95% of liquid soap is water and it takes 19 times more water to produce liquid soap, cleaner waste water, No Single Use Plastic Bottle) AND all the user benefits of liquid (hygienic dosage - no-one touches the soap, cleaner counter top/bath/shower shelf, cost saving - solid soap lasts at least 6 times longer than liquid, smaller storage required etc.)- the SNOAP Dispenser was born.....
The SNOAP dispenser, when full holds two bars of SNOAP which is the equivalent to approximately 20 (YES 20!) bottles of liquid hand soap. The soap is cruelty free with no sulphates or parabens, and most of our ranges are vegan, we do offer specific animal milk products for their ability to exfoliate the skin and improve skin conditions such as acne. We also ensure there is nothing in our SNOAPs which will cause aquatic harm from its waste water, which is something very few people know about. This made us also want to consolidate this depth of information to communicate so we set up our Blog. the aim of this is to share statistics and knowledge and have our "SNOAPYs" input as-well, there is always more to learn and we hope our Blog helps.

We hope you enjoy using the SNOAP Dispenser as much as we have enjoyed developing it, and really hope you join us in turning the tide on single use plastic.
